There are guest chef dinners, and then there are evenings where the chef behind the restaurant returns to its kitchen. On Sunday, 4 October 2026, Chef Enrico Bartolini will be back at AMICI Bali for an exclusive one-night collaboration, joining Executive Chef Alessandro D’Amico to present a menu that brings together the restaurant’s identity with Bartolini’s signature culinary philosophy.
Located in the heart of Seminyak, AMICI has established itself as a contemporary Italian restaurant rooted in the traditions of regional Italian cooking. Conceived by Chef Bartolini, the restaurant combines refined technique with genuine Italian hospitality, balancing craftsmanship and seasonality in a setting that feels elegant without becoming overly formal. His return offers diners the rare opportunity to experience the restaurant alongside the chef whose vision first shaped it.
The evening begins with a canapé reception before moving into a five-course dinner, served throughout AMICI’s indoor dining room and open-air veranda. Rather than presenting a retrospective of Chef Bartolini’s career, the menu has been designed as a conversation between two chefs. Working together in the kitchen, Bartolini and D’Amico will create a dining experience that reflects AMICI’s contemporary direction while introducing guests to the distinctive style that has earned Bartolini international recognition. The full Enrico Bartolini Returns to AMICI menu will remain a surprise until the evening itself, adding a sense of anticipation to the occasion.
One dish, however, has already been confirmed. Risotto Enrico Bartolini – the chef’s signature beetroot “Acquerello” risotto finished with butter, Gorgonzola, and walnut – will anchor the dinner. Elegant in its simplicity, the dish has become closely associated with Bartolini’s approach to Italian cuisine, where familiar ingredients are refined through precision rather than excess.
The significance of the evening extends beyond the presence of one of Italy’s most decorated chefs. Bartolini currently holds 14 Michelin stars across his portfolio of restaurants, yet this collaboration is as much about AMICI itself as it is about its founder. By returning to the Bali restaurant that bears his name, he reconnects with the philosophy that has guided the venue since its opening: timeless Italian flavours, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the pleasure of sharing a table.
With seating limited to 100 guests, the dinner has been deliberately designed to remain intimate. Guests may choose the five-course menu on its own or pair the experience with a curated wine selection, allowing the evening to unfold at an unhurried pace. The smaller scale reinforces the spirit of Italian conviviality that sits at the heart of AMICI, where conversation, hospitality, and good food naturally come together.
For diners in Bali, the Enrico Bartolini Returns to AMICI event offers more than a guest chef appearance. It is an opportunity to experience Chef Enrico Bartolini cooking once again in the restaurant he envisioned – an evening where Italian tradition, contemporary refinement, and the warmth of genuine hospitality meet around one table.
