The story of Another Hendrick’s begins with Master Distiller Lesley Gracie, the creative force behind every Hendrick’s innovation since the gin’s inception in 1999. Inspired by her love of chocolate and the botanical hothouses surrounding the Hendrick’s Gin Palace on Scotland’s Ayrshire coast, Gracie embarked on an ambitious challenge: creating a gin that successfully incorporates cacao without overpowering its botanical complexity.
The result is a remarkably balanced spirit where velvety cacao notes meet fragrant orange blossom, layered atop Hendrick’s signature rose and cucumber foundation. The flavour profile delivers a richer, smoother experience while maintaining the elegance and freshness that gin enthusiasts have come to expect from the brand.
“Another Hendrick’s with its delectable combination of orange blossom and cacao is really rather unusual,” says Gracie. “As a spirit with endless possibilities, I wanted to find a way to combine two of my favourite things in a way that felt authentic to Hendrick’s.”
Before arriving in Jakarta, Another Hendrick’s made its Indonesian debut in Bali through an intimate launch experience at Santanera in Canggu. The acclaimed restaurant and bar provided the perfect setting for guests to discover what Hendrick’s describes as Anotherland – a whimsical exploration of new perspectives and unexpected flavours.
Guided by Southeast Asia Brand Ambassador Alexis Sang, guests were introduced to both Hendrick’s Original and Another Hendrick’s through a sensory tasting experience that highlighted the nuances of each expression.
“While retaining the lovely round character and balance that is the signature of Hendrick’s Gin, Another Hendrick’s offers a peculiar and unprecedented taste experience,” says Sang. “The aromatic marriage of cacao beans and orange blossom opens a world of possibilities.”
The evening continued with a specially curated gin-pairing dinner created by Andrés Becerra, chef and co-founder of Santanera Bali. Rather than merely matching cocktails with dishes, the menu explored the same sense of discovery and curiosity that defines the new gin itself.
On the nose, Another Hendrick’s presents bright citrus aromas from orange blossom alongside vibrant juniper, finishing with a subtle touch of sweetness. On the palate, the gin reveals velvety cacao richness balanced by lively citrus notes before settling into a smooth, rounded finish.
The spirit shines in simple serves such as a Gin & Tonic garnished with cucumber and orange peel, allowing the distinctive orange blossom and cacao notes to take centre stage. It also lends itself beautifully to the Another Hendrick’s Spritz, where sparkling wine, apple juice, soda and cherry liqueur complement its layered character.
The launch of Another Hendrick’s marks a significant milestone for the brand.
