For couples seeking a wedding destination that feels removed from the everyday, the highlands of Bali offer a compelling alternative to the island’s coastal settings. At Padma Resort Ubud, forested hills, verdant landscapes and a tranquil river valley provide a natural backdrop for celebrations that bring together thoughtful hospitality and the beauty of the surrounding environment.
Located in Payangan, north of Ubud’s cultural centre, the resort presents a collection of wedding venues designed to accommodate different celebrations, from intimate gatherings surrounded by greenery to larger receptions beneath the open sky. Each setting offers a distinct atmosphere, allowing couples to shape their wedding around their personal vision while drawing inspiration from Bali’s highland landscape.
Wedding venues framed by Bali’s natural beauty
At the heart of the resort’s wedding offering is a selection of venues that balance natural surroundings with flexibility. For intimate ceremonies and private receptions, Bamboo Nest provides a distinctive setting overlooking the river valley. Its secluded location and striking bamboo architecture create an intimate atmosphere, making it particularly suited to couples who prefer a celebration closely connected to nature.
For outdoor weddings with a garden setting, Pool Lawn offers a relaxed backdrop amid the resort’s greenery. The venue accommodates up to 70 guests for a cocktail reception or 100 guests for a banquet-style buffet, making it suitable for smaller celebrations, afternoon gatherings and intimate dinners.
Couples planning a larger occasion can consider the Wedding Lawn, an expansive outdoor venue set against the natural landscape of Payangan. Designed for ceremonies, cocktail receptions and formal dinners beneath the open sky, it can accommodate up to 600 guests for a cocktail reception or 350 guests for a banquet-style buffet. An air-conditioned ballroom also provides an elegant indoor alternative for celebrations that call for a more formal setting.
Bespoke dining and thoughtful wedding planning
Beyond the setting, the experience is shaped through close collaboration between couples and the resort’s dedicated team. From the flow of the occasion to the finer details of the day, the planning process is designed to reflect each couple’s preferences and approach to celebrating.
The culinary offering forms an integral part of the experience. Working with couples, the resort’s culinary team develops menus tailored to their tastes, whether the occasion calls for a champagne reception, a cocktail gathering or a dinner accompanied by carefully selected wines. This flexibility allows the dining experience to complement the character of the celebration, bringing a considered gastronomic dimension to the wedding day.
A wedding celebration that extends beyond one day
At Padma Resort Ubud, the occasion need not end when the reception concludes. Guests can extend their stay amid the tranquillity of Payangan’s highlands, turning the wedding into an opportunity to spend more time together in a setting defined by nature.
The Spa at Padma Resort Ubud offers another dimension to the experience, with pre-wedding treatments providing a moment of calm before the festivities and restorative therapies offering a welcome pause afterwards. For couples and their guests, these experiences create space to slow down and enjoy the destination beyond the main event.
Set within an 11-hectare landscape overlooking the bamboo forests of Payangan, the resort combines contemporary Balinese architecture and artworks with an expansive natural setting. Its 149 rooms and suites, 89-metre infinity swimming pool and signature dining venues further support its appeal as a destination for couples seeking to bring their loved ones together in Bali’s highlands.
Whether envisioned as a secluded ceremony overlooking the river valley or a grand outdoor reception surrounded by greenery, weddings at Padma Resort Ubud offer a setting in which the landscape becomes part of the celebration. With versatile venues, personalised planning, tailored dining and restorative spa experiences, the resort presents a considered option for couples looking to mark the occasion in the quieter, nature-led surroundings of Ubud’s highlands.
