Japanese cuisine takes a contemporary turn by the beach this September as Starfish Bloo at W Bali – Seminyak welcomes YUKI for a special edition of its signature Sunday Brunch. Taking place on 27 September 2026, the collaboration brings YUKI’s laid-back interpretation of Japanese cuisine to the beachfront, pairing its signature creations with Starfish Bloo’s generous brunch spread.
Known for combining time-honoured Japanese techniques with bold flavours and locally sourced Balinese ingredients, YUKI offers a fresh perspective on modern Japanese dining. The menu for the afternoon presents a selection of dishes that balance familiar Japanese elements with playful, contemporary touches, reflecting the vibrant culinary landscape of Bali.
Among the highlights is the Ahi Taco, which pairs sushi rice with yuzu kozo, cured watermelon and citrus tanuki, while the Island Sashimi brings together fresh sashimi with citrus dressing, fresh wasabi and shiso oil. For something with a richer edge, the Prawn Tempura Roll combines salmon, spicy mayo and sukiyaki, while the Wagyu Sando layers brioche with onion jam, cheddar cheese and truffle aioli. To finish, Strawberry Castella is served with yuzu cream and compressed raspberry.
At the heart of YUKI’s kitchen is Chef Kadek, whose more than 15 years of culinary experience inform an approach that bridges Japanese culinary culture with the flavours and ingredients of Bali.
