Bali’s cultural richness is best experienced through the stories, traditions and creative talents of its people. Embracing this philosophy, Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa celebrated Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026 on 31 October and 1 November, inviting guests to explore the island through an immersive programme of culinary encounters, artisan collaborations and cultural experiences under the theme Layers of Discovery.
The celebration also highlighted the latest collection of beverage rituals under Evenings at Renaissance, developed in collaboration with award-winning Indonesian bartender Demitria “Demi” Dana Paramita, founder of HATS Bar Jakarta and Renaissance Hotels’ first Beverage Rituals Ambassador. Drawing inspiration from local ingredients, cultural traditions and familiar flavours reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective, the collection transforms the transition from day to evening into an opportunity for discovery and connection.
“Bali is a destination filled with extraordinary stories, from its artistic heritage and culinary traditions to the people who continue to shape the island’s creativity,” said General Manager I Wayan Raksa. Through Renaissance Day of Discovery, the resort sought to create meaningful opportunities for guests to connect with the destination beyond conventional travel experiences, bringing together local talent, cultural encounters and contemporary hospitality.
Exploring Bali through flavours and evening rituals
The festivities began on 31 October with an evening inspired by the spirit of Evenings at Renaissance, where food and beverages became a gateway to exploring local culture. One of the highlights was the Punch Bowl Ritual led by Demi, an interactive experience designed to bring guests together over a shared drink. Reflecting the philosophy behind the new beverage collection, the ritual reinterprets familiar ingredients and traditions through a contemporary expression of local culture.
The evening continued with Pasar Senggol, a lively dining experience inspired by Indonesia’s traditional night markets. Celebrating the country’s culinary diversity alongside Asian and international flavours, the event featured collaborations with neighbourhood dining partners Avli, Yuki and Café La Pasion. The gathering offered guests an opportunity to discover different culinary perspectives while highlighting the resort’s connection with the surrounding food community.
Adding a cultural dimension to the celebration, the Baraong Show by performers from Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park brought Balinese performing arts into the spotlight, offering a captivating conclusion to the evening.
“Food and beverages have a unique ability to bring people together while telling the story of a destination,” said Director of Beverage & Beverage Satria Gamita. From the vibrant flavours of Pasar Senggol to the Punch Bowl Ritual with Demi, each experience was thoughtfully designed to encourage guests to rediscover familiar tastes through a different perspective.
A celebration of local craftsmanship and cultural heritage
On 1 November, the programme shifted its focus towards craftsmanship and creative collaboration through The Artisan Table, bringing together three local creative partners: Komang Tri Jewelry, Clay Craft Pottery Studio and Brew Me Tea.
The collaboration united jewellery-making expertise, ceramic craftsmanship and tea appreciation in the creation of a specially designed tea set inspired by local artistry. Through conversations with the participating artisans, guests gained insight into the creative processes, materials and stories behind each piece, highlighting how different disciplines can come together to produce objects with a distinct identity.
The day also marked the introduction of Silk Road, a tea-based beverage developed with Demi as part of the Evenings at Renaissance collection. Combining aromatic flavours with the spirit of cultural exchange, the creation celebrates the unexpected connections that emerge when different ingredients and traditions meet.
Further opportunities to explore Bali’s cultural heritage came through traditional dance classes led by artists from GWK Cultural Park and a Sasando music workshop. Both experiences offered guests a closer understanding of traditional movement, musical heritage and the stories behind these artistic expressions.
As the afternoon gave way to evening, the resort’s infinity pool deck became the setting for a sunset ritual combining music, movement and Bali’s natural beauty. Designed as a moment of reflection and connection, the experience brought the two-day celebration to a fitting close.

Discovering the layers of Bali
With Renaissance Day of Discovery 2026, Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa brought together the different elements that shape Bali’s identity, from its culinary traditions and contemporary craftsmanship to its performing arts and creative communities.
Rather than presenting culture as something confined to the past, the celebration highlighted how heritage continues to evolve through the people who preserve, reinterpret and share it. By connecting local artisans, culinary partners and cultural practitioners with international travellers, the resort offered a more engaging perspective on destination discovery.
It is this spirit of curiosity that defines the Renaissance Hotels experience, where meaningful encounters extend beyond the hotel itself and invite guests to uncover the unexpected stories that make each destination distinctive.
